My journey with Bicyclemint began from a personal place. As a child, I experienced the heartbreak of bicycle theft multiple times. It was a feeling of helplessness that stayed with me, even as I grew older. About 30 years later, I found myself recreating my childhood bicycle, a project that was as much about nostalgia as it was about passion. When I began putting together my childhood bike, I thought about bicycle ownership and realized there isn’t a chain of custody or trail to indicate prior ownership similar to vehicles.

I realized that having a form of transparency and establishing ownership visibility through a title, we would be able to begin a process of establishing trust and security in bicycle ownership. This led me to the idea of minting titles and deeds on the blockchain through NFTs for bicycles. By leveraging blockchain technology, we can create a secure, immutable record of ownership that ensures authenticity and provides peace of mind for bicycle owners. This innovation not only helps protect against theft but also brings a new level of transparency and trust to the world of bicycle ownership.
